So it's the day before Valentines Day, pre-Valentines Day, I guess you could call it. Things are... well that's it. They just are.
I used to think this was just a useless Hallmark holiday, and in a sense, it still is. I've come to appreciate certain aspects of it, like having someone to share it with for instance, but in my opinion, it's just another corporate holiday.
Despite my opinions of said holiday, I purchased a card for they boy. A really cute, sexually oriented (as usual), but jokingly sexually oriented card. I'm not one for giving serious cards.
Heather and I watched the Wizard of Oz last night, and I had an epiphany. That one controversial scene with the lovelorn midget suicide. Yes. I had an epiphany.
It occurs directly after that scene where Dorothy and the Scarecrow discover the Tinman, and are visited by the Wicked Witch of the West, who sets the Scarecrows arm on fire. When they decided the Tinman will go with them to the Emerald City, and then do that little skipping thing they all do off into the distance. Directly in the middle of the screen, in the horizon, you can see a small black "thing" moving around right after the Scarecrow trips, which actually looks somewhat like a suicide. In the reprinted 1991 or 96 version, you notice at the very end of the scene, it looks like a bird wing. Which is exactly what it is. A crane. Apparently, the directors had borrowed various sized birds from the zoo to make the set appear more "woodsy". See the video clip here.
I'd rather believe the more eccentric end of this, considering the information I looked at is from the internet, and anyone these days can host a website. Basically, the internet isn't a very trustworthy source, in my opinion. Besides that, it's more interesting to think it's a suicide, even though most likely it isn't. However, if it weren't a suicide, what would be the purpose of editing out that specific scene on the television version? I definitely never saw it when it was on the family channel. My opinion here is that no one really knows.
It's in the very back center, however some people like to believe it's way in the top left corner because they don't fully understand the difference between foreground and background, and that when objects are in the background, they're generally not of equal size and distance of objects in the foreground. But oh well. It's in the back center, kiddies. Knock yourselves out.
I managed to get a picture of Steve Junior today, thanks to Tyler, who kissed him on the cheek. I'll admit, it was hawt. I'll scan/upload that some time later.
I visited my Gramma tonight. She's home from the hospital, and currently in a hospital bed in the living room, sleeping her little heart out. Not to sound pessimistic in the least, however she looks terrible. She's just so frail and withered. And pale. I'm dreading the day I come home from school to realize my Gramma died earlier that morning.
This entry is really morbid.
I watched Saved By the Bell this morning.
I don't know if I should've mentioned that.
Goodnight.
