I'm sick.
There's no getting around it this time, I feel like shit.
My throat is sore and a bit swollen, my lips are chapped, ears hurt, sinuses congested, and no matter how many times I blow my nose the snot never seems to dissipate.
Besides my urge to crawl into my bed and die, I lost my stats final (thanks Heather, I owe you). I also fucked up my physics exam. Oh, and
the hospital dropped my Gramma on the floor.
During physical therapy today the nurses made her stand up. She insisted she couldn't stand, she couldn't even fucking feel her legs however they decided to stand her up anyway.
She fell.
Seriously, how dumb are these people? Do they hire anyone they can get now days, because that sounds retarded to me.
She's become quite depressed, and mentioned to my aunt a few times that she gives up.
She gives up.
She can't give up.
She wasn't getting any sleep. She shared her room with a little old woman who never closed the hole in her face. She never slept. Just talk talk talk talk talk.. loud talk.
A few nights ago this lady woke up in the middle of the night, screaming. She must have been deeply affected by WWII, because she jumped out of her bed, ripped down the separating curtains and started "talking" to my Gramma, which was actially more like a hysterical scream. She ripped out her catheter and paced around the room all worried-like telling my Gramma they, "Need to hide, the Nazis are coming."
Needless to say she woke up the whole ninth floor, and everything was a mess.
She left yesterday.
The new patient is recovering from surgery and doesn't talk much.
And I'm still sick, dammit.
Steve suggested I gurgle warm salt water for a little bit. I'm so relieved. My throat feels so much better. The only thing that bothers me now is the soreness around my nose, due to all this nose blowing.
And I finished my art project. hoo-wah!
Well, sick girls need rest, so I shall be leaving.
