Following winter break I am to present a speech regarding capital punishment, and the like. Personally, I'm against capital punishment in any form, and I have my reasons.
I'm not Christian. I'm not even part Christian, and as long as I have anything to do with it, I'll remain as far away from being Christian as possible. I don't have anything in particular against Christians or the Christian religion, in fact, I don't really favor any religion over another. I've just come to realize most Chrstians are hypocrites.
I have no reason bringing Christians into this matter with capital punishment, mainly because they're not the only crowd involved. However, presenting this idea towards Christians, they seem to have a lot of hostitlity. Coincidence? I think not. What ever happened to the Bible? I'm quite sure the Bible doesn't premote killing in any way, shape or form. I don't mean to bring this about to pick completely on Christians.
I mean to pick on everyone.
It just baffles me that the only way the Government, and America as a whole, believes they can lower death rates and the desire to murder is by exact ideas they're trying to rid America of having. Does anyone else see something wrong here?
Can anyone say "double standards?"
So we solve our problems by ridding ourselves of them? Does that even make sense? We're not "solving" anything by killing more people.
My point being, I just believe that if we live in a nation where we can put a man on the moon and succesfully clone living beings, then why in the hell are we still murdering people, which disregarding certin events, are just like you and me.
If you're wondering, I do think it's unfair. I don't think capital punishment should be completely abolished, but used within reason.
Things are unjust, and too many become victims of the system.
Note: Sorry if I offended anyone, keep in mind, these are my opinions.
